Fakawmi's digital art & small business journey
Hi, My name is Fakawmi and i'm 20 years old andI am currently residing in Aizawl, Mizoram.
When did you first started digital art?
I started earlier this year around March.
What kind of equipment do you use for your digital art?
I mostly use my tablet and phone and sometimes I use my laptop as well.
What apps you have used first for digital art, are they're free?
When I first started digital art i use Medibang paint and switched to Adobe Sketch later,and yes they are both free.
Any tips for the people who want to start digital art?
Just go for it and believe in yourself, I think that is the most important thing and you'll get to explore and learn more along the way.
About your small business
I have always love stationaries and stickers and I thought it would be great tocreate something of my own that I love and share it with people, I was hesitant at first but I finally decided to start it and officially opened my shop on October.I am currently selling stickers and I am planning to expand it with other stationary items. Mode of Payment: I mainly used online payment ( such as gpay,paytm and bank transfer)and accept a few COD for buyers in my local area. My shop is based in Aizawl, Mizoram
What's the mode of shipping? Is shipping is free? What's you're opinion on COD?
I ship all my outstation orders through India Post and standard shipping fee is ₹60-80.I don't have a lot of experience with COD, and the few ones are all from my local area and sofar I haven't had any trouble. But honestly, I am a little bit scared to open orders for COD in the outstation area as I have seen a lot of my fellow small business friends strugglewith return orders.
What are the basic equipments necessary for small business?
I think it will be different on the type of small business one does, but one of the most importantthing for me is my phone because that is where I do most of my work.Since I get all of my sticker manufactured from someone else I think it is also importantto find a good and trustworthy manufacturer.
Any tips for the people who want to start their own small business?
Don't hesitate to do the things you love and trust in yourself. Allow yourself to make mistakes because that is how we learn and grow from it. Enjoy every bits of the process and be kind to everyone.
Things which you love apart from Digital ?
Apart from digital art, I really enjoy baking and journaling is also one of my favouritething to do in my free time.
What's your opinion on small business. You're 5 favourite small business.
It's really great to see people working and showcasing the things they love and sharing it with people.I think it is amazing and beautiful, and the whole small business community is such a good communityand great way to meet and interact with good people.
