Hirnakshi's bookstagram journey
Hi! I'm Hirnakshi from the Pink City. I'm in 12th grade currently and I'm aspiring for a future in medical.I know a little bit of French and my biology (that's the whole reason I choose medical) I also have a bookstagram account @thebook_smuggler_
where I share my love for books. Managing bookstagram and studies sometime becomes too hectic but during pandemic bookstagram was and still is my only safe haven.
How you started building the community?
I've been avid reader since 8th grade and after then I just kept reading books that popped up on Amazon. Then I started browsing memes for the books on instagram and pretty soon my whole explore page on my personal account was filled up with memes and then beautiful pictures of bookstagram started appearing and I was bewitched and I thought its lockdown why not do something instead of just lousing around. Then and there @thebook_smuggler_ was created! :)
What makes you feel when you start reading?
Like I'm about to go on an adventure. Reading gives my life a purpose and something to look forward to when I come back from school or when I want to escape biology 🙈😂
Any tips for the people who, want to start a bookstagram.
Just to do it! It's okay feel to pressured because I do feel that sometimes and then I just go through my old pictures and compare them to new ones and see that how much I've grown not in numbers but as a person and as a bookstagrammer. I don't get selected in every rep positions or in every book review but it's okay! Do what you love and other people will love it and even if they don't you're here for yourself not for them not for anybody. :)
Share your experiences of being an influencer or a rep ?
I'm an introvert by nature so it's a little tough for me to open up but seeing so many people and working with them is so so amazing! I give all my dedication in giving the shop the hype and love they deserve! Honestly people here are more nice than in my offline world! 👉👈😂🙈
What's your main moto in starting this page?
Just to spread my love for reading and make atleast one person read my favorite book👉👈 Starting bookstagram was an impulsive decision and now its all I think about. I used to think that how tough can clicking pictures can be because I'm the photographer in my family 😂 but it's tough getting the right angle, the perfect shot but I love all the ups and downs
What's your opinion on small business?
If you own a small business I already respect you! I may not be able to buy something from you but I love you and you're doing an amazing. I try to buy as much as I can from small business because the love you guys put into creating every single thing is phenomenal! 🤩
- You're top 2 favourite books? Why?
So my top two favorite books are "Chasing Red" by @isabelleronin
because it portrays every emotion. It makes me feel everything and I've re-read it quite a few times. In this book Caleb and Veronika battle their own demons and help each other to battle theirs too. It shows that being independent is not wrong but there should be someone to share that happiness with. My next favorite book is definitely "Six Of Crows"! I mean do you even need to ask me why. The hate/love relationship between Kaz and Inej. Banters of Nina and Matthias and when she said "you're better than waffles" has my whole heart. The whole gang is completely dysfunctional but yet they make each other strong.
